An ordinance focusing on short-term rentals and bed and breakfasts in Lafayette Parish is being deferred to the September council meeting.

Final adoption of the ordinance will be moved from the July 21, 2020 meeting to the September 1 council meeting. LCG says the move is to allow for more sufficient time for council members, development and planning staff and legal departments to review suggested changes and input from citizens.

The proposed amendment, according to the advocate would help provide clarity on the short-term rentals. Right now the Unified Development Code does not prohibit or permit short-term rentals. Read more here.
