Feu Follet post office reopens today

On Friday, Jan. 3, 2020, full operations are expected to resume at the Energy Center Post Office in Lafayette. The U.S. Postal Service previously suspended operations temporarily at the Energy Center Post Office, due to a plane crash near the facility. Customers are able to access the parking lot, retail area, P.O. Box section, and any public space at the Post Office. The post office on Feu Follet Road in Lafayette resumed operations on Friday.

The Energy Center Post Office was closed on Sunday following a deadly plane crash on Saturday that killed 5 people and injured several others. Customers were able to access the parking lot, retail area, P.O. Box section, and any public space at the Post Office.

The US Postal Service said that during the closure, there was no disruption to post office delivery.

The center is located at 455 Feu Follet Road in Lafayette. The building received damage during the plane crash including blown in windows.

Retail Hours for the post office are Mon-Fri 8:30 am-4:30 pm with Saturday and Sunday closed.
