February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, and an event was held in Lafayette today to mark it.
Flawed Masterpieces Inc. hosted the event, as it does every year. This year's event was at the Omni Center, and was free for all to attend. The event featured local survivors, advocates and mentors to talk about the issue.
"I know that a couple of times I could have probably lost my life behind it, so I really want to be an advocate to let everybody know that healing is possible," said Taylar Francis, founder of Flawed Masterpeices. "You can come out of this, and you can survive this."
