Cord Paul Anderson, 31, was wanted for a variety charges out of St Martin Parish including kidnapping and aggravated assault. Sunday night, he was arrested by Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Deputies and Duson Police Officers at the Black Gold Casino in Duson.

The officers put Anderson in the back of a police car, and went back into the Casino to look for a second suspect. While they were doing that, Anderson allegedly kicked out the rear glass of the police car, crawled out and fled. An extensive search of the area was conducted by the Duson Police, Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office, Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office and Lafayette Police utilizing two drones and three Police Canines lasted over 2 hours with no success.

An hour after they stopped searching, Duson Police found Anderson when he returned to the casino parkin glot. He allegedly resisted officers, but was taken into custody again.

Anderson is being booked in the Acadia Parish Jail for escape and criminal damage to property charges with a hold for Breaux Bridge Police for the kidnapping and aggravated assault charges.

Sunday night during the search, an Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office alert asked the community on Soldier Road to stay indoors while agencies searched for Anderson.
