The D.R.E.A.M.S. Foundation of Acadiana is sending meat pies to Lake Charles.
Over 5,000 meat pies on two pallets were donated to the United Way of Southwest Louisiana to feed those helping to clean up in the wake of Hurricane Laura.
The meat pies are made at the Foundation's Dreams Manufacturing Company.
The Lafayette facility employs around 20 individuals with special needs who help create the meat pies from scratch.
The Foundation is also asking for the community to consider making a donation so that they can continue to give to those assisting with Laura recovery efforts.
