LAFAYETTE, La. — As the state begins to reopen and things are looking up for businesses, non-profits are still feeling the negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In Downtown Lafayette, there is an effort to help during the month of June.

Downtown Lafayette Unlimited is a non-profit organization that is continuing to struggle with the negative impacts of the pandemic.

The group is behind events like Downtown Alive, ArtWalk, Movies in the Parc and more.

Now, they are hoping you can help them and other non-profits in the area stay afloat.

"Our mission is to support our downtown businesses, and members, and stakeholders, so we've been working really hard to do that and the chicken sandwhich snackdown is a win win for downtown," said Downtown Development Director Maureen Dugas.
