Downtown Lafayette Unlimited and Opportunity Machine partnered to host a Downtown Meet-Up on Wednesday, July 17, from 6 - 8 p.m. at The Pearl.
The meet-up was an opportunity for Lafayette professionals and entrepreneurs a chance to mingle and discuss issues concerning Lafayette, such as economic development and innovation.
The event featured a panel of Lafayette business owners and entrepreneurs who discussed the importance of economic diversity and how certain characteristics of downtown areas, such as building density and variety of businesses, can create the foundations for entrepreneurial success.

Anita Begnaud, CEO of The Downtown Development Authority, said that, "Coming together, we'll be stronger. Coming together, we'll have better ideas. Coming together, we'll come up wth more things that we can do to start businesses, to help businesses grow and thrive. This is huge for downtown Lafayette...for Lafayette as a whole."
