On Friday, a party celebrating Evangeline Maid Bakery's 100th year in business will be held in downtown Lafayette.

Evangeline Maid Bakery is celebrating with Downtown Alive on Friday, November 1, 2019. The birthday party for Lafayette's beloved bakery at Parc International will feature music by Wayne Toups & Zydecajun starting at 5:00 p.m.

Maureen Dugas Foster, Director of Downtown Lafayette Unlimited, said, "We're feeling really grateful about having Evangeline Maid in our community for 100 years. You know, there's not many businesses that have been around for 100 years, and for them to want to celebrate with Downtown Lafayette and Downtown Alive, it's just really wonderful. We've had a great time with them as our presenting sponsor this season."

The Fall 2019 season is presented by Evangeline Maid as part of their celebration of 100 years of bread making tradition in Acadiana. The 87,000 square foot bakery at Simcoe and St. Antoine Streets in Lafayette employs over 200 people and bakes 1.2 million pounds of bread per WEEK.

The party starts with the DTA! Happiest Hour, featuring a specialty cocktail alongside new offerings like White Claw Hard Seltzer, Cut Water Spirits, and a new selection of wines and beers at the DTA! bar and beer trucks. There will be fun for the whole family, with kids activities provided by the Children's Museum of Acadiana, Deuxieme Vie Creative, and MLR Magic.
