Downed power lines and trees create hazards on Lafayette roads

Drivers in Lafayette should use caution if traveling on roadways Saturday morning.

DOTD is reminding drivers that if they encounter an intersection where the traffic signal isn't working, treat it as a 4-way stop.

Several roads in the area have been reported to have downed lines and other road hazards that may impede normal travel.

Lafayette Police say a downed pole at Moss and Lita Drive is blocking that roadway.

And a power line on E. Butcher Switch in Lafayette has also closed that roadway.

There is a wire hazard on Choctaw Road in Lafayette.

Traffic light malfunctions have been reported at the following intersections:

West Congress Street and Rue du Belier in Scott

Ambassador Caffery Parkway and S. Morgan Avenue in Broussard

Lafayette Police other city and parish agencies are responding to locations.
