The Downtown Development Authority announced Friday, January 29, that a local development team has acquired the Don's Seafood building in Downtown Lafayette.

DDA says that Hub City Holdings has purchased the property and plans to redevelop it to accommodate retail, food and beverage, residential, and shared communal space.

The Hub City Holidings consists of team members Ryan Pécot, Gus Rezende, BJ Crist, and John Petersen. They say their goal is to create "a vibrant touchstone in the heart of the Downtown District."

“We are beyond elated to announce Hub City Holdings’ acquisition of the former Don’s Seafood property,” said Anita Begnaud, CEO of Downtown Development Authority. “This is a wonderful opportunity to breathe new life into a piece of Downtown Lafayette history.”

Begnaud added, “We look forward to continuing the momentum of activating more areas off of Jefferson Street, and we’re confident this redevelopment will drive even more people to this corner of downtown.”

DDA has provided more information on leasing the space in the development at this link.

The restaurant closed last year at the start of the pandemic.
