A do not drink order has been issued for the Belleville Subdivision Water System in Lafayette.
The Louisiana Department of Health says the order was issued due to the water being provided to customers via an unapproved public water source. The LDH says the owner of the subdivision allegedly connected the system to a private well after a failure of the systems only approved well. Officials say they cannot be sure of the quality of water produced by the water system so services to that water source were disrupted.
The Do Not Drink Order was issued beginning October 2, 2019. Customers have been notified according to the LA Department of Health.
