Distemper quarantine lifted; Acadiana Animal Aid now back open for dog adoptions

After a two-month quarantine, Acadiana Animal Aid is back up and offering dogs for adoption.

Late last year, some dogs brought to the shelter by a local public shelter tested positive for distemper. Because of that, all the dogs at the shelter were treated, tested and then quarantined to ensure none of them had the infection.

There are lots of dogs available for adoption. To apply, go to acadianaanimalaid.org and fill out an application. The shelter will be open for walk-ins and appointments starting tomorrow from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.

The shelter also has lots of beautiful cats and playful kittens up for adoption, as well.
