LAFAYETTE, La. — Dance recitals scheduled later this month at the Heymann Performing Arts Center could change after being warned by the State Fire Marshal's Office about the event's capacity.

According to the SFM, the Heymann Center was reminded of the 250 capacity limitation, but a spokesperson said that they do not have any complaints on record for any dance schools.

A spokesperson for the Lafayette Consolidated Government says that they are aware of the SFM contacting the Heymann Center about the recitals, and that there will be announcement soon about adjustments made.

Note: On Tuesday night, KATC mentioned Front and Center Dance Company as one of the recitals scheduled to perform at the Heymann Center later this month in an earlier version of this article. In no way did KATC intend to insinuate that this was the only dance company involved or that this company did anything wrong. In fact, the owner of Front and Center Dance Company tells KATC that they are doing everything to follow the rules.
