At Allie and Patola Medical Center in Lafayette the public was able to get tested for COVID-19.

The center holds free testing every Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 p.m and every Friday from 9 a.m. to noon. The tests are nasal swabs and are done in conjunction with Lafayette Consolidated Government and other entities.

Tents are set up outside the center to test those who wish to be tested. The medical center is located on Wilson Street in the Oil Center in Lafayette.

"This is something we're providing to the community," explained Dr. David Allie, Director of the Louisiana Cardiovascular & Limb Salvage Center. "We have several non-profit organizations who have raised funding for this, and we're offering for asymptomatic, meaning they don't have to have a symptom and no cost to the patients."
