Covenant United Methodist Church in Lafayette is continuing to accept supplies to help those in Cameron and Calcasieu Parish affected by Hurricane Laura.
The church says that they will accept items from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Monday, September 7 and Tuesday, September 8.
They say that there is still a tremendous need for supplies in small towns and rural communities devastated by Laura.
Items can be dropped off at the Church on 300 E. Martial Avenue in Lafayette.
Monetary donations, cash or check, will also be accepted and used to purchase supplies not donated, the church says.
A list of items needed for donation includes:
- Insect repellent , anything to kill mosquitoes!
- Carbon monoxide detectors
- Yard cleaning tools
- Disposable plates, utensils, cups, paper towels
- New socks and underwear packs (all ages and genders)
- Water and sports drinks
- Diapers, wipes, baby food
- Hygiene items including deodorant and toothpaste
- Flashlights and battery operated lanterns
- Batteries
- Disinfectant wipes
- Work gloves
- First aid kit
- Heavy duty lawn/contractor bags
- Gas cards/visa cards(or any debit card)
Bigger ticket items:
- Fans
- Portable a/cs
- Generators
- Chainsaws
- Canopies
