LAFAYETTE, La. - Middle or high school students interested in participating in the Congressional App Challenge are invited to attend the Kick Off Meeting Tuesday, August 27 at 6:00 p.m. at the UL LITE Center.

The Congressional App Challenge (CAC) is a STEM education competition for middle and high school students that connects teams with local mentors (a college-level student and a faculty member or professional) to help them learn how to code and develop an app.

Lafayette GEAR UP and New Vision Leadership, in cooperation with Congressman Clay Higgins, CGI, CajunCode Fest, Waitr and the UL Lafayette School of Computing and Informatics, has been instrumental in working with community partners to bring this opportunity to students over the past two years.

All middle and high school students who may be interested in participating should attend the Kick Off Meeting at LITE at 6:00 p.m.
