Commit to Quit celebrates more than 10,000 patients treated

The Cardiovascular Institute of the South's Tobacco Cessation Program, Commit to Quit is celebrating more than 10,000 patients treated.

Tuesday in Lafayette, the event featured patient testimonials, physician presentations, refreshments and door prizes.

Those who completed the program and patients currently enrolled attended the event

"The counseling and everything is free and if you are thinking or trying to quit this is a program that is very beneficial," said Melanie and Eric Jerlin, CIS Commit to Quit Patients.

CIS says that no matter where a patient is on their "quit journey," they are welcomed and congratulated for making their health a priority.

Two other celebrations are planned this week in Houma and Baton Rouge.

  • Thursday, August 29- Baton Rouge Marriott, 5500 Hilton Avenue
