A Hazardous Waste Collection Day was held Saturday in Carencro.
The collection day was part of Pelican Waste Services contract with the City of Carencro, according to city officials.
The event was held from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm at the Carencro Community Center on N. University Avenue.
Things like old computers, painting materials, herbicides, and other items were accepted at the event.
Carencro City Manager Donald Chauvin said paint was the most popular item collected, but officials saw "all kinds of chemicals, electronics, [and] household appliances."
