Some changes went into effect today for the Scott Police Department, Chief Chad Leger tells us.

The Emergency Services Building that houses Scott Police Department and Scott Volunteer Fire Department is open and will remain open during normal business hours until further notice.

Those that wish to pay citations are encouraged to pay online using their credit/debit card or pay by mail with a money order. Here's the link for online payments. The mailing address for money order payments is Scott Mayor's Court, P.O. Box 81, Scott, Louisiana 70583.

The Scott Police Department is temporarily suspending fingerprinting services and vehicle inspections until further notice.

The Scott Mayor’s Court scheduled for March 31, 2020, at 5:30pm, will continue as scheduled.

With new information from Federal, State, and Local Governments coming out on a daily basis, the proceeding may change at any time, the chief says.

"The Scott Police Department is dedicated to the safety of the public and our officers. All laws, criminal and traffic, remain in effect and will continue to be enforced as usual. Scott Police Department will continue to provide for the safety and security of our homes and businesses with integrity and professionalism," Leger said.
