The Carencro Police Department is continuing to investigate a homicide in the 200 block of Brockton Drive.
Residents told us, the street was quiet, then before midnight a loud pops occurred.
Chief David Anderson says that one person was fatally shot around 12:00 am on Thursday, July 4.
Anderson says that following the shooting officers learned the victim had been transported to a local hospital by a private party. The victim was pronounced dead on arrival.
The identity of the victim will be released pending next of kin notification.
Lafayette Police assisted the department.
"Lafayette Police were able to stop that suspect vehicle and arrest three people on Surrey street." Anderson said.
Anderson says that, following a search, weapons were recovered and the three suspects were taken into custody.
A 16-year-old has been booked on a charge of one count Second-degree murder. Anderson says that other charges are pending.
The investigation is ongoing.
