CARENCRO, La. — The Carencro Mardi Gras Association announced Wednesday that it has decided to cancel the 2021 Mardi Gras Parade due to "circumstances out of its control."

"A parade of this magnitude is reliant on a large number of volunteers, specialized services and public entities," said spokesperson David Bernard in a release. "Our decision to cancel the parade was based on all aspects of not being able to provide a safe environment for all party’s involved."

This is the latest Mardi Gras parade in Lafayette Parish that has cancelled for 2021 following cancellations of the Mardi Gras parade in Scott and the Mardi Gras Parade in Youngsville.
