Fire caused extensive damage to a Carencro home on New Year's Day.
Carencro firefighters say they received a call at 6:09 Wednesday morning about a fire at a residence in the 300 block of Elwick Drive.
The fire was extinguished within 30 minutes with the help of Lafayette and Scott Fire Departments.
Officials say that the home received heavy fire and smoke damage. A cause is still under investigation.
All occupants were able to escape the home safely.
