The rematch between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor may be happening more than 8,000 miles away from Lafayette in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, but Acadiana residents got front row seats to the action - kind of.
Acadiana Drive-In at the Cajundome showed the premiere live streamed event of UFC 257 Saturday evening. The stream was projected onto the Cajundome Convention Center building and featured around six fights leading up to the main event. The Main Card Event between McGregor and Acadiana local Dustin Poirier began around 8 p.m.
The fight was streamed at drive-in events across the country, with Lafayette's being sponsored by Lafayette Roofing & General Contractors.
Safety measures like social distancing and contactless payment were in place.
