Some in Lafayette kicked off this Super Bowl Sunday with a brunch downtown.
On Jefferson Street, there were pop-up shops, food, drinks and a live DJ. Attendees had to follow COVID-19 protocols, like wearing masks and keeping socially distant.
Anita Begnaud, Downtown Development CEO, says the event offered a safe way to see what's going on Downtown.
"It's really about giving people in Downtown Lafayette a chance to enjoy the outdoors and have some fun as a family," she said. "Get to meet other people, get to know other people, and to see what we have to offer in Downtown Lafayette.
