The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office says that the crash on Bayou Tortue Road on Monday was fatal.
The crash involved a single vehicle and claimed the life of a Broussard woman identified as 33-year-old Jada Goody.
Deputies say that while traveling along Bayou Tortue Road at around 4:00 p.m., Goody's vehicle ran off the road.
Goody was transported to the hospital and later died.
The road was blocked while law enforcement were on scene near La Flamme Road. An investigation is ongoing.
