Broadmoor students get pep rally for academic achievements

The Kiwanis Club of Lafayette is proud to once again celebrate students at Broadmoor Elementary that were able to bring up their grades for the 2nd 9 weeks. The B.U.G. (Bringing Up Grades) Program was created by Kiwanis International to help children learn leadership through academic achievement. We'll be holding a pep rally at the school to award those who made progress this nine weeks with prizes and gifts. Students will also be able to win extra prizes by participating in contests, such as those with the funniest faces or best dance moves. More than 60 students will be recognized in the quarterly program. The program starts at 2:00, January 22, 2020 at Broadmoor Elementary.

Bringing up grades is a cause for celebration at Broadmoor Elementary.

The B.U.G. program created by Kiwanis Club of Lafayette is focused on helping children learn leadership skills through academic achievement.

A pep rally was held at Broadmoor on Wednesday to award students who made progress during the nine weeks. Those students received prizes and gifts for their efforts.

Students also won prizes by participating in contest during the pep rally today. More than 60 students were recognized.

Vance Lanier, Chairman of the B.U.G. Program, said that they "try to get a child to concentrate on bringing up a grade, not necessary their entire curriculum, but...committing to saying, 'I'm going to do better in this course.'"
