LAFAYETTE, La. - There will be a blood drive to help with medical cost for a little girl with craniofacial condition.

The drive for little Addie will be held on her 8th birthday, Thursday, July 25 from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Section 705 FCU, 1455 W. Willow Street, Lafayette, 70506.

Crouzons syndrome is a genetic disorder that affects the rate of growth and development of the skull and facial bones. Most children have some or all cranial vaults fused at birth. Addie has had three cranial vault surgeries, three tube surgeries and a surgery to remove her tonsils and adenoids. The surgeries were due to the skull bones fusing together and her brain not having enough room to grow.

Her first surgery was when she was three months old, and she is about to have her sixth surgery in August.

The family will receive $15 to $27 for whole blood, $30 to $54 for two red blood cells, and $30 to $54 for platelets and concurrent products that will go towards Addie's medical cost.
