A spooky spectacle on two wheels passed through Lafayette on Saturday as Bike Lafayette welcomed the community to their "Bikes, Burgers, and Boos" event.
Guests enjoyed burgers and poboys from local vendors while learning tips about bike maintenance.
Then, after dark, the event took to the streets for a Gleaux Ride guided by members of the group.
The event was part of Bike Lafayette's goal of connecting bicyclists in the area.
"We have seen so many people on bikes since the pandemic hit us in spring, and we feel like now is a really good time to connect with new riders and show them how to safely enjoy their bicycles," said Jessica Ellis, the Events Committee Chair at Bike Lafayette. "We're going to have a group of experienced riders there who can give advice on where to ride and we will be sharing tips on fixing and maintaining your bike."
The "Gleaux Ride" was part of a monthly series to raise awareness of the importance of bicycle lights.
All attendees were asked to wear masks and social distance for a safe and friendly ride.
