LAFAYETTE, La. - Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana is making sure every child in their program has a gift to open this Christmas.
"We have somebody to stand in their corner with that child and guide them and lead them throughout life's challenges," said Executive Director Kalli Christ, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana. "We think everybody needs somebody to stand in their corner, and by giving today on giving Tuesday, you're impacting their futures for tomorrow."
GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good, according to givingtuesday.org. Over the past seven years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
