LAFAYETTE, La. — A bicyclist was struck Monday night on the Evangeline Thruway near I-10 and transported to the hospital.
According to the Lafayette Police Department, the cyclist was struck by a vehicle on the Northbound lanes of Evangeline Thruway at Castille Avenue in Lafayette.
LPD says the victim was transported hospital and has yet to be identified.
Police say the incident was not a hit and run and the driver is still on scene.
The accident is under investigation.
