LAFAYETTE, La. - A bicyclist who was struck by a vehicle last week has died from his injuries.
On May 6, 2020, at 5:30 pm, Joseph Broussard, 47, of Lafayette, died from injuries sustained in an April 30th crash near the intersection of NW Evangeline Thruway and Chalmette Road along I-49.
Broussard was struck while crossing near the intersection, according to police.
The southbound lanes of NW Evangeline Thruway between Interstate 10 and Pont Des Mouton were closed due to the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
