A Lafayette man has died after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday in the 700 block of Patterson Street in Lafayette.
Lafayette Police say the pedestrian was struck in the 700 Block of Patterson Street on October 22, 2019.
At around 7:00 p.m. Lafayette spokesperson Corporal Bridgette Dugas says a man entered the roadway and was struck by a vehicle.
That person, identified as 35-year-old Jacobi Chevalier of Lafayette, was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.
An investigation is ongoing, but Dugas says that alcohol was not a factor in this incident. No citations were issued to the driver of the vehicle.
*The Lafayette Police Department previously reported that Chevalier was riding a bike and was struck. That information was incorrect.
The story has been corrected to show that Chevalier was a pedestrian at the time of the crash.
