LAFAYETTE, La. — For the 28th year in a row, Bailey's Seafood & Grill offered Thanksgiving meals to people Thursday who need them.

Anyone who needed a meal Thursday, for whatever reason, was able to get one from the restaurant and its owner, Ema Haq.

Usually, it means a full house of folks who come for the meal, and Bailey's even provides transportation. But this year, because of the pandemic, things were different.

At the restaurant, there was only limited outdoor seating, and transportation wasn't offered due to safety concerns.

That did not diminish the offering, however, as diners could pick up their meal at the curb, and Bailey's offered delivery to those who couldn't get out.

"Its very heartwarming you know I mean everybody and all the volunteers who takes the time to make it happen I have the place I have the food prepared the meals but it certainly takes a village," said Haq.
