On Wednesday, December 2, Acura of Lafayette and the Fabre Group held their inaugural "Back the Blue" event.

The day was spent thanking first responders and members of the US Military with a jambalaya lunch served from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at the Acura of Lafayette location on Johnston Street.

Those who visited for the event were asked to wear blue or patriotic colors to show appreciation for men and women in uniform and first responders.

A toy drive was also held for Our Lady of Lourdes.

The hospital requested that unwrapped toys, preferably for a little boy, be donated.

The groups say that they look forward to hosting their "Back the Blue" event for many years to come.
