LAFAYETTE, La. — Students at St. Thomas More got to meet the author of a book that's part of their required reading.

Sherry Hill wrote "The Cradle to the Bowl," about the life of her son Marquise. He was a star defensive end at LSU and with the New England Patriots.

In 2007, just two years after winning the Super Bowl with the Patriots, Marquise died in a jet ski accident on Lake Pontchartrain.

At the end of her presentation to the students today, Sherry Hill gave the students some advice.

"Always reach for the stars. Always reach for your goals in life. Try to make it--do what you want to do in life. Don't let nobody sidetrack you. Never bully in school because what you do in the past could catch with you," Hill said.
