The Lafayette Animal Shelter and Care Center partnered with SpayNation on Saturday to offer free rabies vaccinations for dogs.

The four-legged friends and their families drove through the parking lot at the Cajundome for the event. Staff also offered microchipping and spay/neuter vouchers.

Saturday's event was for dogs onlly. A separate rabies clinic for cats will be held on November 13 from 8 a.m. until noon at 1640 N. Bertrand Drive.

All animals in Lafayette Parish over the age of four months must be vaccinated against rabies by a licensed veterinarian and registered yearly.
