The Academy of Interactive Entertainment will host Lafayette Game Jam this weekend at the LITE Center.
The 48-hour event is open to the public and welcomes beginner game makers and experienced game developers from around the area to attend.
AIE students and alumni will also be participating.
Game Jam gets underway on Friday, November 8 and will continue until Sunday, November 10th at AIE's campus.
Organizers say they hope that the event will bring together the Louisiana game development community and inspire the next generation of game developers.
