The Family Tree Information, Education, & Counseling Center is excited to open registration for Lafayette's first ever Aging Summit. The Aging Summit is part of a new program offering that joins The Family Tree's long list of services built over the past 40 years. Registration for the Aging Summit occurring Sunday, August 25, 2019, from 1pm - 4pm at the UL Student Union in the Atchafalaya Ballroom is available on their website. General admission is $25 and general admission plus CEU credits is $50. Vendor booths will be set-up to allow for businesses related to aging a chance to engage with summit participants and allow for informational networking.

The Aging Summit will focus on assisting families and their elderly members as they age together and need to develop the best options for their care and legacies. The inaugural event welcomes National Speaker, Eldercare Expert, and Author of "How to Take Care of Old People Without Losing Your Marbles," Suzanne Blankenship, who will provide a keynote speech and lead a discussion panel on aging.

Executive Director, Marie Collins says, "Acadiana is such a great place to live and The Family Tree wants to make sure everyone in our community has the best resources available to them. We are so excited to welcome National Eldercare Expert, Suzanne Blankenship. She will share her sound advice and successful tools related to eldercare, as well as moderate a panelist discussion with some of the best aging experts from our region."

If you are interested in partnering with The Family Tree as a sponsor or a vendor, contact Marie Collins at MCollins@AcadianaFamilyTree.org as soon as possible to secure your spot.

Registration for the event can be secured on The Family Tree website at AcadianaFamilyTree.org.
