LAFAYETTE, La. — While some are shopping for Christmas gifts, others are shopping for Christmas Trees and other holiday decorations. Abby Breidenbach takes us to one Christmas Tree lot where some people just couldn't wait to jump into the next holiday.

When a pandemic hinders your Thanksgiving plans, there is one thing that is bound to bring comfort and warmth back to your holiday season.

This is what brought Noelle Brotherton's family to Pollard's Christmas Tree Farm on Thursday.

"The smell of a Christmas Tree, you can't beat it," said Brotherton.

"We're going to get out the decorations and we're going to spend the morning decorating," said Meg Touchet, who was also shopping for a Christmas Tree on Thursday.

And for families who have skipped the real tree in the past, this feels like the perfect year to pull out all the stops on holiday decorating.

It's the smell of picking out a tree, the act of taking it home and the traditions that come once you set it up.

"It's cool to find ornaments that symbolize a lot of things from the past, like we have a lot of family ornaments," said Porter Brotherton.

And with weeks of memory making ahead of us, the holiday fun is only beginning.
