LAFAYETTE, La. — The Safari Club International Acadiana Chapter is donating $5,000 to The Salvation Army of Lafayette to assist it with the community response to the COVID pandemic.

According to a release from SCI, the board of directors for the Acadiana chapter recently voted unanimously to support the programs offered by The Salvation Army that focus on fighting hunger and food insecurity, offering shelter, clothing and job assistance to those in need in Acadiana.

SCI states its chapters retain 70% of the funds they raise, to be applied in their local communities. In the past 5 years, SCI Acadiana says it has put more than $100,000 towards education, conservation and humanitarian projects in our community.

SCI will present a $5,000 check to the Salvation Army on Friday, May 8.
