LAFAYETTE, La. — The Acadiana Po-Boy Festival and Plate Lunch-A-Palooza have been canceled this year due to COVID-19, but the festival's organizers have announced that festival will continue with a "Pandemic Edition" that will feature a Po-Boy Tasting and Fundraising Art Raffle from Sept. 1 - 30.
According to a release from Social Entertainment, which organizes the festival, the Pandemic Edition is an adapted and safe edition of this year’s event.
This year's festival will be divided into a Po-Boy Tasting and online Fundraising Art Raffle to support local businesses and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana, the annual non-profit beneficiary of the Acadiana Po-Boy festival.
Ten participating local restaurants will serve and sell their signature po-boy at their restaurant, the the $1 per po-boy sold will be donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana.

- Poupart's Bakery
- C'est Bon Manger
- Acadian Superette
- Central Pizza & Bar
- Pop's Poboys
- Dean-O's Pizza
- Broaddus Burgers
- Tchoup's Midcity Smokehouse
- Black Cafe
- Johnson's Boucaniere
There will also be an online Facebook Fundraising Art Raffle to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana. Each donation equals a chance to win the Official 2020 Acadiana Po-Boy painting, created by local artist Trent Oubre.
Social Entertainment recently announced that the Acadiana Po-Boy Festival and Plate Lunch-A-Palooza festivals will officially merge into one giant food event moving forward, starting next year: the Acadiana Po-Boy & Plate Lunch Festival.
The previously individual events are known to celebrate the legacy of the humble po-boy, and to offer the ultimate plate lunch experience to event goers.
The inaugural Acadiana Po-Boy & Plate Lunch Festival is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 3, 2021 in Downtown Lafayette.
