Acadiana Planning Commission updating Long Range Transportation Plan

Transportation Plan will Guide Future Transportation Investment over the Next 20 Years

LAFAYETTE, La. - The Acadiana Planning Commission’s Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is kicking off the long range planning process for transportation projects over the next two decades.

“Over the previous two decades, the Acadiana MPO has funded innovative transportation concepts in Acadiana, from roundabouts to bridge improvements to bike and pedestrian facilities in Acadiana,” says Monique Boulet, CEO at the Acadiana Planning Commission. “The MPO is committed to maximizing our transportation investments to build the best possible Acadiana over the next 20 years.”

Public engagement is a major source for the decision-making involved in the project prioritization in the plan.

Opportunities for the public to provide input on the plan development include:

• Attend a public hearing. All public hearings will be broadcast on Facebook to provide access to virtual participants.

· March 3rd from 5 pm to 7 pm, Sliman Theatre, 129 E Main St, New Iberia

· March 10th from 5 pm to 7 pm, Youngsville Sports Complex Recreation Center, 801 Savoy Rd, Youngsville

· March 24th from 5 pm to 7 pm, Cecilia Civic Center 2464, Cecilia High School Rd, Cecilia

· March 31st from 5pm to 7 pm, Carencro Community Center, 5115 N University Ave, Carencro (Tentative)
