LAFAYETTE, La. - Acadiana Animal Aid launched a new program called Fungus Fight Club.
Their goal is to increase adoptions for cats with ringworm. Animal Aid has more ringworm cats than ever and it's truly affecting their quality of life in terms of quarantine housing, as well as preventing the staff from taking in more cats from LASCC and the other municipal shelters (many of which are experiencing the same issue).
Ringworm is very treatable, and moving afflicted cats out of shelters more quickly will have an exponential lifesaving impact.
All of the ringworm cats have waived fees and you are provided with their free medication and detailed treatment information to fight the fungus at home.
Here's the blog post on their website.
