As of Saturday evening around 6:45 p.m., Lafayette Utilities System (LUS) is reporting 20,000 customers without power in its service area.
LUS has 36 line crews and 17 tree trimming crews throughout Lafayette working to get residents' power back on. More crews will also be arriving soon to assist.
