Starting on Tuesday, students in grades 1 through 12 with even numbered home addresses were the first to step foot onto campuses across the parish.

Students will alternate days with those with odd-numbered addresses. Those students will return to school on Wednesday, September 9.

Masks and other appropriate face coverings will be required for students in grades 3 through 12. Those in Prek through 2nd grade will need to wear masks outside of instructional time.

Social distancing will be followed in all area of school campuses and on buses where seating charts have been created to allow for spacing of students.

Thermal cameras are also in place to conduct temperature checks for students, faculty and staff.

Lafayette Online Academy students began their orientation and onboarding process Tuesday before their official start on Monday, September 14.

On the 14, students in grades 1 through 5 will begin daily face to face learning while those in PreK, Kindergarten and grades 6-12 will remain on an alternating schedule.

The following week, beginning September 21, Students in Prek and Kindergarten will join those in grades 1-5 in daily face-to-face instruction.
