SCOTT, La. — Businesses in Scott were judged on their Mardi Gras decorating skills.
The judging is part of the Scott Business Association's initiative to get local businesses and residents involved with Mardi Gras in spite of the pandemic.
City officials and royalty traveled around to participating locations to make their determination on the winning designs and decors from various participants. KATC caught up with judges outside of Our Lady of Lourdes Emergency Center where they judged a very traditional designed "stationary" Mardi Gras float. The float even had a few "cut-out" riders, being pulled along by a child's jeep.
On Saturday, they will travel to local residences that are signed up for the contest.
The "Courir de Couchon Mardi Gras" is in collaboration with the City of Scott, Scott Police Department, and Scott Fire Department.
