The United Way of Southwest Louisiana and Second Harvest will host a grocery distribution event on Wednesday, October 7 for Hurricane Laura victims in Jeff Davis Parish.

The distribution will take place from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the parking lot of the Jeff Davis Multi-Purpose Building at 810 South Lake Arthur Avenue in Jennings.

No pre-registration is required. Groceries will be handed out on a first-come, first-serve basis via a contact-free drive-through.

“We know our community members are struggling with many issues right now due to COVID-19 and the hurricane,” said Denise Durel, President and CEO of United Way of Southwest Louisiana. “We can provide some groceries right now to help ease some of the anxiety while they try to get back on their feet.”
