January weather has returned to Acadiana behind a front, which finally moved out of the region on Wednesday after lingering for almost a straight week.

This means that the sunshine will stay out in full force on Thursday with only a few high clouds moving into the area later in the evening, although even those will be gone by Friday morning.

Since we'll have clear skies temperatures will drop down into the mid 30s with areas of light frost possible in areas, particularly north Acadiana, by early Friday.

The sunshine sticks with us for the rest of the work week with the next round of clouds moving in on Saturday afternoon ahead of our next cold front.

The front is expected to move through late Saturday night sparking showers across the region early Sunday morning, although since the front is moving quickly we'll see sunshine return by Sunday afternoon.
