They're here. The dog days of summer have arrived in south Louisiana.
After a really wet and cloudy week, Acadiana is getting back to its typical forecast for this time of year as temperatures increase along with the humidity.
The heat index through the rest of the week will be in the triple digits during the afternoon so make sure that you do your best to take it easy during the hottest parts of the day.
A solid mixture of sunshine and cloud cover will be the order for the week, and a few pop up showers will be possible in the late afternoon (although they will stay brief and isolated).
It's still a little too early for fine details but there does look like there will be an increase in rain chances by the weekend.
