Shooting happened at the corner of Martin Luther King Drive and Guiberteau Street.

Officials say that the shooting happened Friday around 6:00 p.m. near the corner of Martin Luther King Drive and Guiberteau Street. An altercation is believed to have led to the shooting.

Thompson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Neighbors tell KATC that the suspects were after Thompson's friend. Not him, and that he was not a part of the previous altercation.

Grant was arrested on a charge of second-degree murder and Dauphine was arrested on a charge of accessory after the fact of second-degree murder.

Interim Police Chief Fernest Martin says the arrest came hours after the shooting.

"I made a promise to the public I would not leave until we had information that we needed that would bring closure to this crime" Martin said.

More arrest are expected.
